December 17, 2020:
Here is an update on this issue:
At the December 16, 2020 Board meeting, president Marion Weil stated:
"No such [community] vote needs to take place. There are funds in the reserve specifically for the roadways under repair and replacement. The Engineering Committee will be writing specifications for bids to repair and seal the roadways…”

July 24, 2020:
Phil Kennedy wrote in three separate emails a follow up to his attorney's letter to Board President Marion Weil (which we posted on June 18, 2020 and June 2, 2020 below):
Is our Board of directors responsible for keeping our roads beautiful? The board asks us to be responsible for our common grounds what about their responsibility to their common grounds in our community? It's like lets not cut the grass and let it grow. We know the grass would look ugly like our roads. Lets ask the board to seal our roads and not have our community looking run down. The money to seal the roads is already in the general fund. Is it about not spending the money or not putting the time in to run the project?
It sure would be a perfect time to reseal our roads. The Board should address it now. I guess they are planning on waiting till the snow birds are back and the cars are back on our roads. Such a shame.
The money for resealing is in the general funds. I checked with Jeff Green. No assessment for the road resealing. It's been nine years since we resealed. Most communities do it every five years. We all know that the roads are good by our Engineering Dept. It just have to make the roads pretty again like our community. We presently have ugly roads. We look run down. Very run down.
Editor’s response: The Editor thanks Phil Kennedy for keeping this issue at the forefront and suggests that he contact the Chairpersons of the following committees: Engineering, Facilities, Long Range Planning.

June 18, 2020:
Editor's note: the following email was sent to the Editor from resident Phil Kennedy along with the HOA's Board President's response to his attorney's below letter:
Hi Vickie, [sic] My lawyer just sent me Marion's response to his letter. The ugly roads are not going onto the next board meeting. To busy with safety in our community. What a joke.Looks like the Board of seven people can't address two items at a time. When I was on a board up north we addressed all issues. Seven board members and they cannot address our common areas. The roads are ugly. Jeff Green said we have the money put aside for the sealing of the roads in the general funds. We live in a slum. Please put this in your new message board. Regards, Phil Kennedy
Marion Weil's response:

Subject: Community Property Roadways
Dear Mr. Comiter,
Regarding Mr. Philip Kennedy’s concern about the roadways in Cascade Lakes, please advise your client that the roadways will not be on the next Board Agenda. In the current environment, the Community’s focus is on matters of safety and security.

June 2, 2020:
Editor's note: the following letter from attorney Comiter was sent to the HOA to the attention of Marion Weil, President. It concerns the need for resealing of the roads and was provided to this News Site by HOA member Phil Kennedy, and we believe that it is well worth the read.
Per Phil, there has been no response from the Board, however, we do note that we have no evidence that anyone on the Board was ever provided a copy of this letter by Board president Marion Weil.
We therefore post it here, so that the other Board members and the entire community will be made aware of its existence and its contents. This will give the entire Board the opportunity to read it and potentially do something about it.
